Diving in Aqaba Tripadvisor
Best scuba diving in Aqaba
The warm, clear blue waters of the Red Sea around Aqaba are home to colorful coral reefs and marine life including reef fish, lionfish, sea turtles, and moray eels. Aqaba gulf has plenty of dive sites to explore and is a great place for snorkelers, first-time divers right up to experienced divers.
The majority of the dive sites are located on the fringing reef, located within the Marine Park. The reefs here are in great condition with excellent visibility, and the dives spots are accessible right from the beach or a jetty. South Beach, located in the center of the Marine Park, and Royal diving club offer excellent uncrowded access to dive sites for snorkeling and shore dives.
Just beyond the shore you can dive and snorkel on the shallow reef. You can enjoy a wide variety of reef fish swimming above soft and hard corals. On the reef drop off, you will find crowds of brightly coloured clownfish, butterflyfish, damselfish, anthias and surgeonfish. If you’re lucky you may even spot a sea turtle.
Although Jordan has a small coastline, Aqaba has over 30 dive sites, most of which are in the Aqaba Marine Park. Each of them significantly differs from shallow coral reefs (perfect for snorkeling) to deep canyons and shipwrecks. Thanks to the wide range of diving spots, it is a perfect place for both beginners and experienced enthusiasts of underwater travel.
The Royal Sea Trek is proud to launch the most unique and magnificent experience in Aqaba in the Red Sea. It’s the closest experience you can have to scuba diving without having to don diving equipment and swim constantly.
Imagine getting to walk on the Sea floor as if you are almost weightless. The closest you can come to experiencing the feeling astronauts have when walking on the moon. Be able to walk safely underwater at a depth of no more than 3m deep in a helmet providing you with constant air flow.
Underwater tour duration is approximately 20-25-minutes long with a qualified Sea Trek guide. Every 4 participants will have their very own Sea Trek guide to ensure safety and entertainment.
